Just got to be extra careful when logging in to anything anywhere, especially when you got to the log in site by clicking a url. Double check the address bar and if there's anything suspicious at all, report the ass hole that sent you the url. Even if everything seems legit, start over at the main site just to be safe, such as www.steampowered.com, www.amazon.com, or www.newegg.com.

Losing steam account until you can get it reset won't hurt you so bad in the long run, but think of what could happen if you ever got duped out of your amazon account.

I don't know if he knows yet but I'm pretty sure I got a message from him a few nights ago trying to get me to go to that link.

Hackers like this always fail with me because if a link takes me to a site that requires me to login I usually don't even bother because logging in would take too much effort

Damn it. I JUST got that same exact link, with the same exact "OMG HAHA", from Dieses. His account is definitely hacked. Either that or he joined the dark side.

I was actually stupid enough to log in. Two minutes later my Steam says this account is logged in elsewhere please put in password again. I figure this is fine since I just logged in at the web browser steam, not the actual exe. So then it does that again. At that point it all just clicks in my subconscious and I get a HOLY FUCK I JUST GOT JACKED! reaction. Partially because I remember reading this thread a long time ago, and also because I took a closer look at the URL.

Long story short, I changed my password in the nick of time. The fucker was definitely in the middle of changing the email/password setting because I did receive an email or two from Steam about some recovery.

Just beware of this, everyone. Hope Dieses gets his stuff back.

Edit: I just realized that because my password is the same, my email also got hacked:

I just got that message from dieses earlier today, he was logged off before I got back to my PC. I logged into his phony website with user name "..|.." and password "youareadouchenozzle" Hope the bastard knows enough English to understand that.
